Epithalon 10 mg
What is Epitalon (Epithalon)?
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly.
This peptide was developed from a natural peptide found in the pineal gland and has been studied for more than 30 years by Russian scientist Vladimir Khavinson to explore its potential effects on slowing cellular aging and supporting hormonal balance.
Mechanism of Action of Epitalon
Epitalon has been studied in research related to longevity and cellular aging. Several mechanisms have been proposed, including:
1. Telomerase Activation
Telomerase is an enzyme that helps maintain and extend the length of telomeres, which are protective caps at the ends of chromosomes.
When telomeres shorten, cells enter a state of aging and stop dividing. Activating telomerase may help cells maintain their ability to divide for a longer period.
2. Stimulation of Melatonin Production
Epitalon is associated with the function of the pineal gland, which produces the hormone melatonin.
Melatonin plays an important role in:
Sleep-wake cycle regulation (circadian rhythm)
Immune system support
Antioxidant activity
Increasing melatonin levels may help support better sleep balance and overall recovery.
3. Regulation of Gene Expression
Cellular studies suggest that Epitalon may influence:
Epigenetic regulation
Antioxidant enzyme activity
Immune system function
These mechanisms may be linked to supporting cellular health and slowing age-related cellular changes.
